Is Social Media a Necessary Evil in the Hiring Process?

Writer: GLFGLF

Hiring in a modern business environment can be difficult for employers as social media becomes a regular source for candidates. Although many employers are comfortable with posting a job and receiving applicants for an open position, what about new rules that may govern how these applicants should be tracked or if there are new protected classes or characteristics that need to be considered. Employment law changes regularly on the state, local and federal level and it is incumbent upon the employer to be aware of these changes. It is important for employers to regularly review their recruitment practices, procedures and policies in order to remain compliant with all applicable laws.
